Celebrate World Breastfeeding Week

World Breastfeeding Week is being celebrated in more than 170 countries August 1-7. The week is to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. It commemorates the Innocenti Declaration made by WHO and UNICEF policy-makers in August 1990 to protect, promote and support breastfeeding.

The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) launched its first World BreastfeedingWeek (WBW) campaign 20 years ago.

You can submit your pledge of support for World Breastfeeding Week and view the photography competition results at worldbreastfeedingweek.org.
