I would agree that relaxing music is very helpful for a Mother who is in labor. I know that I found it extremely helpful when I was delivering my own daughter. The music helped to keep me calm, and distract me from the pain. I am not sure what effect it has on the infant in the womb, but I would imagine that it has a similar effect on the child, and helps to relief the stresses of childbirth. In addition to childbirth, I also find that listening to relaxing music can really help me to ease pms symptoms, as well as everyday stresses.
