Experts agree that babies up to 6 months old should be kept out of direct sunlight; use shade, hats, sunglasses and clothing to protect their skin from the sun. At 6 months you can start to use infant-specific sunscreen on your little one; look for a full-spectrum sunscreen made specifically for baby’s skin and that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
Parent favorites include sunscreen sticks that include zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as these are gentler on everyone’s skin! And speaking of sticks, you’ll be thankful you chose one when you’re trying to ever gently glide around your little one’s nose and cheeks while steering clear of his eyes!
