You may begin to feel tired in pregnancy long before you’ve had that first positive pregnancy test. The fatigue is believed to be caused by your hormones—primarily progesterone—as it prepares your uterus for pregnancy. As pregnancy progresses, the stress of the extra weight, blood volume and the energy your body consumes growing your baby can leave you fatigued. To feel better, take naps during the day if you can or rest as much as possible when you can—pregnancy is a great reason to go to bed early, and sleep in when possible.
