PeaPod Travel Tents
KidCo Inc. PeaPod Tents have been recalled due to suffocation risks. In 2011 a 5-month-old boy died in the tent. CPSC has announced six more reports of children becoming entrapped in the recalled tent, and Health Canada has reported three incidents.
The recall affects about 220,000 KidCo PeaPod and PeaPod Plus Travel Beds, small, portable sleep tents marketed for use by infants from birth to 3+ years. The recalled tents have a zippered side for putting in and taking out the child and have an inflatable air mattress that fits into a zippered pocket underneath the floor of the tent. The tents fold into a compact round shape and come with a fabric bag for storage and transport.
Infants and young children can roll off the edge of the inflatable air mattress, become entrapped between the mattress and the fabric sides of the tent, and suffocate. The following models (number found on a small tag on the underside of the product) are included in this recall:

P102 Lime
P103 Periwinkle
P104 Ocean
P201 Princess/Red
P202 Camouflage
P203 Quick Silver
P204 Sagebrush
P205 Cardinal
P900CS Green
The recalled travel tents were sold at independent juvenile specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from January 2005 through the present for between $70 and $100.
